Gimme all your lovin', all your hugs and kisses too

Soon the day of love will be upon us. I'm not a fan of this holiday (single girl syndrome?) but really, what girl can deny herself chocolate, candles, lovely stationary, a darling red dress and some fabulous accessories?

*For those who are way uncool, the post title is from ZZ Top's song Gimme All Your Lovin'. Duuuh.

a weekend outfit

Oh my goodness, yesterday was glorious! Simply glorious! The weather felt as though it were late March, rather than early February. I wore a spring jacket, and went for a casual stroll in this outfit:

And check out this adorable squirrel basking in the sun's rays on top of my fence! So cute!

A weekend like this is one for the books. Relaxation, gorgeous weather, casual strolls, football on t.v today, and snacks. Couldn't ask for more (well, maybe a cute cowboy, but hey, I won't push my luck).

What I'm Wearing

Can you believe it's February already?! A gratuitous outfit post for you today. I love wearing professional clothes. They're so comfortable! Dark grey trousers, a knit black sweater, a red scarf and printed kitten heels are my uniform.

Painted my nails! Grey and black neutrals, dots on my ring finger.
My favourite charm bracelet.

Hope ya'll are having a great week! Hump day= halfway to the weekend!

Happy Monday!

Good morning, loves! I'm happy to share that there are only 56 days until Spring! To celebrate Spring's eventual arrival, I've made an adorable outfit that I wish I could wear today!!

60's style-modernized!

I've been obsessed with catching up on all of the Mad Men episodes. Joan Harris is my ultimate favourite character. I don't know if it's her demeanour, her rocking bod, or her fashion sense that makes her so alluring to me, but I want to exude some of her confidence and fierce style. I made this modernized version of something she would wear on Polyvore. Curve hugging shift dress? Check. Scarf? Check. Pumps? Check and mate.
Please excuse me while I go fix myself a martini.

pink + gold

A colour combination that has been catching my eye recently is pink and gold. Not only is it feminine, but it is luxe and utterly glamorous. Whether used in your interior decor, or your fashion, it's a colour combo with a huge impact. I can't wait to use this duo in my own future apartment, but in the meantime, I must find some pieces to incorporate in my wardrobe.
Champagne cup, so fantastic!/French chair, so opulent!/Gold cuff and pink blazer- fabulous!/Gold skirt and pale pink pullover.
This print- framed? Would be great hanging over a desk!

juicy red

An old post I had written (think August) that never got published, so here she be!

Curled my hair, painted my lips red and put on some heels. Feeling a little fierce!

welcome, fall

With yesterday's nippy air and the kids returning to school, I'm ready to embrace fall, even unofficially. Sunny days, chilly nights, rich tones, layers, and warm, delicious drinks...

welcome fall

Packing and moving for my final in-class semester tomorrow! Talk to you all on Friday!

bracelet DIY attempt

I say attempt because after a few hours of attempting to create a masterpiece, this is all I ended up with:

Pathetic, right? But hey, I like to share the good along with the bad. I mean, what I ended up with is not terrible because I will still integrate it into my wardrobe, but it's so simple that a newt (newt, really?) could do it. Apparently I do not possess the patience required for tedious beadwork and finery. I am not easily dissuaded, however, and I will attempt to create something utterly fabulous before we ring in 2012, as stated in my 12 Before 2012 list! You all have faith in me, right?

What I'm Wearing

This is how I do the summer-to-fall transition with my wardrobe. A couple of new purchases this time. I'm wearing a new long sleeve tee I bought at Walmart for $9! The purple clutch is a new purchase from my road trip to St. Jacobs, and so is the bangle watch. The clutch came with a chain, so it can also be a purse, and only set me back $25. The bangle watch was only $12! Such a cheap way to infuse some interest in your wardrobe.

My new bangle watch.

Playing with different pieces is so much fun. The crisp air and sunny days are the best. I love this time of year!

newly acquired gems

This past weekend, I went with my mom to a local antique and general store. I always love looking at gems from the past because I imagine ways of incorporating them into the present. I was especially enamoured with their vast collection of vintage and unique jewellery and accessories. In fact, I purchased a few new pieces for my jewellery repertoire at a reasonable cost ($50)! I took some pics with my phone, and yes, I used "The Ellements of Personal Style" as a prop.

My new collection of jewels displayed on "The Ellements of Personal Style"--more on that book later!
Semi- precious gemstones with the beautiful Olivia Wilde in the background.

In addition to purchasing some jewellery, I also bought a leather handbag... which, coincidentally, is structured- one of the items I planned to invest in, as stated on my 12 Before 2012 list! There was an adorable Louis Vuitton bag there screaming my name (Tiiiiiffany you know you want me!!), but one of the straps needed repair, and I am just not talented enough to fix it. Double sigh. I still adore the bag I ended up with. It's red. It's structured. It's leather. Perfect for school and work. Score!
The brand is "Maxime"-anyone have info on that?

For around $50, I got a leather handbag, two necklaces, one bracelet and three rings. Not bad!

One final pretty from this weekend: my stack of bracelets, including the newest pink beaded on my mom bought for me!

Have you acquired any new-to-you gems lately? How fun is antique shopping!? Happy Monday lovelies!

a pop of posies

These awe-inspiring lovelies are brought to you courtesy of Pinterest. Seriously, I know I keep talking about it, but it is ADDICTING! Love how all these images have flowers (some in a non-descript way), but they are all my focus is drawn to. Flowers complete a space if you ask me!

{1/2/3&4/5}

Feast on all the gorgeous images your eyes can handle with me on Pinterest! Have you recently used flowers to complete a space? And who would have thought that a stack of suitcases could make a surprisingly cute and chic bedside table?
