Gimme all your lovin', all your hugs and kisses too

Soon the day of love will be upon us. I'm not a fan of this holiday (single girl syndrome?) but really, what girl can deny herself chocolate, candles, lovely stationary, a darling red dress and some fabulous accessories?

*For those who are way uncool, the post title is from ZZ Top's song Gimme All Your Lovin'. Duuuh.

My new Girl Crush

I don't know where I've been, but I've just recently become acquainted with Briony, from the blog A Girl, A Style, and I am seriously girl crushing hard on her! She's friggin adorable, lives an envious life of glamour and fashion, and she's clever! A transplant in the U.K., I will not only be taking fashion lessons from her, but gathering intel about life in the U.K. before I traverse there myself!

Check out these adorable pictures of Miss B from The Glitter Guide...

"Whenever you have a spare day, act as though it’s your birthday. Eat cake for breakfast, dance around the room to your favourite songs, throw a frou frou tea party or movie night for your best friends, go to your favourite places… do whatever it is that makes you smile out loud." ~ Miss B

My Southern Life... feat The Front Porch

I thought I'd continue my fantasy southern life by making this a little series entitled "My Southern Life." Any southern home is incomplete without a front porch with some rocking chairs. It's the space where you unwind after a long, hot day, and sip some sweet tea with your honey bee (rhyming ftw).

Kick off your shoes and stay awhile.
Love the white and blue. Also, I would love to have a swing on my front porch, just sayin'.

Okay, these next three images from Emily Jenkins Followill are just bananas. I cannot even express how insanely perfect this home is. It's my southern dream!

Imagine this view at sunset!

A front porch, or even better, a wrap around porch is on the list of must haves for my future southern home.
All of this day dreaming is fun! So now I have my southern front porch, and my kitchen. What space should I do next? Bedroom? bathroom? Front parlour? I can't decide!

Everything Engagement- BHLDN style

Leave it to BHLDN to create a charming, ethereal, glamorous and feminine guide to everything engagement. I've been in love with their site for awhile now, but just recently discovered these engagement party dresses.
Here are my faves from the collection:

Love them all, but dress #2 is the one for me! Now, if only I was getting married...  Nah, I think I'd wear it to a fancy fete regardless of my marital status!

Ruche strikes again!

I love Ruche. I can always go to their website and sigh with desire. Every image is a true piece of art that is simply gorgeous and breathtaking.

Take, for instance, their Winter Lookbook for 2011, entitled Cherished, A Romantic Winter...

Okay, and if these photos weren't enough to make you swoon, watch the behind-the-scenes- video.

It's enough to make you want to cry! The romance they are able to convey in 2:09 is unreal. Better than Stephenie Meyer was ever able to convey in 4 books...

Comfy, Cozy, Knit-ty

Yeahh I made up the word knit-ty. Despite the lack of snow, I find myself continually chilled to the bone. This warm, cozy knit scarf would keep me toasty and warm while I bide my time for spring.

60's style-modernized!

I've been obsessed with catching up on all of the Mad Men episodes. Joan Harris is my ultimate favourite character. I don't know if it's her demeanour, her rocking bod, or her fashion sense that makes her so alluring to me, but I want to exude some of her confidence and fierce style. I made this modernized version of something she would wear on Polyvore. Curve hugging shift dress? Check. Scarf? Check. Pumps? Check and mate.
Please excuse me while I go fix myself a martini.

pink + gold

A colour combination that has been catching my eye recently is pink and gold. Not only is it feminine, but it is luxe and utterly glamorous. Whether used in your interior decor, or your fashion, it's a colour combo with a huge impact. I can't wait to use this duo in my own future apartment, but in the meantime, I must find some pieces to incorporate in my wardrobe.
Champagne cup, so fantastic!/French chair, so opulent!/Gold cuff and pink blazer- fabulous!/Gold skirt and pale pink pullover.
This print- framed? Would be great hanging over a desk!

just some crazy apartment schemes

This DIY rustic headboard has got me dreaming up crazy schemes for my future apartment.

And while we're discussing crazy schemes, I was drooling over Ruche's Sparkling Soiree 2011 lookbook last night and was totally inspired by their props/background.

How awesome would a blackboard wall be? You could constantly change your decor! Of course, it would require some artistic skill...which I sorely lack. Either way, I'm swooning hard over the shelf above the drawn fireplace. So cool.

Beautiful makeover from House Beautiful

A million kudos to Michelle at Ten June for sharing her faves from the latest issue of House Beautiful. I was enthralled with the pictures of the 1940s Suburban house makeover from North Carolina, so I headed over to House Beautiful to peruse them for myself.

The double pedestal sink is BANANAS!
The upholstery on the chairs is  perfect, and I love the round table!
How cheery is the yellow? And how fun are those stools? And can we talk about the floor? Amazeballs!
I'm having a love affair with grey bedrooms. The muted, calm tones are accentuated with the bright turquoise bedside lamps and fresh flowers.
Can we talk about coming home to this every day? I adore this wallpaper. And brown and navy blue is a surprisingly sophisticated colour combination.

Swoon-inducing, right? Click here to read the full interview with Lindsey Coral Harper who designed this space. Looking at these gorgeously designed spaces is making me a tad jealous for my own place.
