Summer-like weather!

Oh hi, remember me? I sure do remember you! It's been awhile, but I heard you beckoning me back, so here I am! Let me update you on what's been happening in my life thus far. I've been soaking up the unseasonably warm weather this past week, because I've been on March Break! I think it's my new-favourite holiday. Who knew the teachers appreciated it more than the students? Ohhh good old teacher insight. I worked at the Garden Centre during my time off from the classroom, and it sure is nice to see greenery and pretty flowers growing. Summer is just around the corner!

Speaking of flowers, look at these snapshots of pretty crocuses I found dwelling in my backyard:

Hello little guys, it's so nice to see you peeking up through the ground!

In other news, I've got 4 more weeks until I'm done my program! WHAT WHAT! I'm so excited and ready to have that diploma in my hand, and be on my merry way to England.

I've been planning the MS Walk for our area, and it's great to see how many people are interested in helping out a good cause, even in our local economy's dire state. I had $81 donated in the matter of 2 hours. Every little bit counts!

OH! Almost forgot to mention. I've started (renewed) a new exercise and eating regime, and I'm feeling great. Tomorrow marks the end of week one, and I plan on sticking with this lifestyle to shed the final 15 pounds to my ultimate goal weight!  I WILL wear a bathing suit this summer... I just need to put in the work to get there.

I'm loving my new striped button-down. It's a little bit of a boyfriend style, kinda unlike my usual style, but it makes me smile! :) Shortly after this picture was taken, I got sunburn on my chest (!) Starting early this year, I tell ya.

Well, that's all for now, friends. Tomorrow's my last day of relaxation (AND Walking Dead season finale- WOOT) before I return to the hectic lifestyle of a teacher... oh, what a career I've chosen :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today was red, pink, and white day at school to celebrate Valetine's Day. Here's my ensemble:

I also painted my nails red, accented with a pink heart!

I had a wonderful day, got a few Valentine's and a couple of sweets. But best of all, I got to chaperone a dance- oh, it brings back the memories!!

a weekend outfit

Oh my goodness, yesterday was glorious! Simply glorious! The weather felt as though it were late March, rather than early February. I wore a spring jacket, and went for a casual stroll in this outfit:

And check out this adorable squirrel basking in the sun's rays on top of my fence! So cute!

A weekend like this is one for the books. Relaxation, gorgeous weather, casual strolls, football on t.v today, and snacks. Couldn't ask for more (well, maybe a cute cowboy, but hey, I won't push my luck).

What I'm Wearing

Can you believe it's February already?! A gratuitous outfit post for you today. I love wearing professional clothes. They're so comfortable! Dark grey trousers, a knit black sweater, a red scarf and printed kitten heels are my uniform.

Painted my nails! Grey and black neutrals, dots on my ring finger.
My favourite charm bracelet.

Hope ya'll are having a great week! Hump day= halfway to the weekend!

Jessica Alba casual

Jessica Alba can really do no wrong. Even casually dressed, she creates a wonderful silhouette, and accessorizes to the max. I used this picture of her as inspiration to create an outfit on Polyvore.

Outfit details here

Can summer be here already so I can break out the tank tops and sandals?

Weekend Look

Well, howdy! So yesterday was a long day and today was long too. I'm finally taking a long, relaxing breath after two hectic days. The interview went really well yesterday, and I'm 92.7% sure I'm going to be teaching in the U.K. in the fall (super exact percentiles of assurance, eh?). The weekend is upon us, and I can't wait to indulge in some downtime.

Here's what I would consider to be a perfect weekend look. A sweater, jeans, flats, simple accessories, and a huge bag for all those flea market finds, and you're set for a carefree weekend.

can't wait for spring

Winter has barely started, but I'm already looking forward to spring because of this ensemble...

60's style-modernized!

I've been obsessed with catching up on all of the Mad Men episodes. Joan Harris is my ultimate favourite character. I don't know if it's her demeanour, her rocking bod, or her fashion sense that makes her so alluring to me, but I want to exude some of her confidence and fierce style. I made this modernized version of something she would wear on Polyvore. Curve hugging shift dress? Check. Scarf? Check. Pumps? Check and mate.
Please excuse me while I go fix myself a martini.

juicy red

An old post I had written (think August) that never got published, so here she be!

Curled my hair, painted my lips red and put on some heels. Feeling a little fierce!

welcome, fall

With yesterday's nippy air and the kids returning to school, I'm ready to embrace fall, even unofficially. Sunny days, chilly nights, rich tones, layers, and warm, delicious drinks...

welcome fall

Packing and moving for my final in-class semester tomorrow! Talk to you all on Friday!

What I'm Wearing

This is how I do the summer-to-fall transition with my wardrobe. A couple of new purchases this time. I'm wearing a new long sleeve tee I bought at Walmart for $9! The purple clutch is a new purchase from my road trip to St. Jacobs, and so is the bangle watch. The clutch came with a chain, so it can also be a purse, and only set me back $25. The bangle watch was only $12! Such a cheap way to infuse some interest in your wardrobe.

My new bangle watch.

Playing with different pieces is so much fun. The crisp air and sunny days are the best. I love this time of year!

What I'm Wearing

My camera sucks. I need to get one that takes better pictures! Lately I've been loving stacks of bracelets, and I bought a few are pictured below. In the first two pics I'm donning the new Sally Hansen Crackle nail polish. Awesome, isn't it?

Ahh yes, here are the pics of my outfit. Black shorts rolled up, a floral print tank top, a loose denim tunic, a nude wedge heel, leopard print bag and a plethora of accessories. I took a cue for my bun from Bee. She's such a doll, isn't she?

Looking at these pics makes me realize I have a pretty sweet tan going on... don't feel bad if you are still pasty, my tan will fade in 3.5 seconds once school starts. *sob!
