What I'm Wearing

My camera sucks. I need to get one that takes better pictures! Lately I've been loving stacks of bracelets, and I bought a few are pictured below. In the first two pics I'm donning the new Sally Hansen Crackle nail polish. Awesome, isn't it?

Ahh yes, here are the pics of my outfit. Black shorts rolled up, a floral print tank top, a loose denim tunic, a nude wedge heel, leopard print bag and a plethora of accessories. I took a cue for my bun from Bee. She's such a doll, isn't she?

Looking at these pics makes me realize I have a pretty sweet tan going on... don't feel bad if you are still pasty, my tan will fade in 3.5 seconds once school starts. *sob!

Bedroom Revival

As I told you in this post, I moved back home for the summer. Which meant that I had to cram an entire apartment worth of stuff into my bedroom at my parent's house. Let me tell you, it was not pretty for awhile (okay, like almost 4 weeks...yikes!). On my first day off in 15 days I finally had enough energy to tackle this huge project. Here is what I had to work with- Warning: Do not judge me, this is embarrassing!!

I've had this bedroom since I was 13, and the paint colour was chosen by me in grade 7. I don't have the time or the budget for a major bedroom reno, so I decided to vamp it up through my use of accessories and new bedding. I just wanted to work with what I had, minus the new bedding. It needed to be a little more adult, since purple tiger stripes hardly say professional, ya know?

Here's the after (it took a few days to fully get it cleaned and organized):

Much more cohesive and professional. And tidy. Cough, cough. Here's the lowdown on what I did to the space to revive it. I bought a new comforter and sheet set (yay for crisp white sheets!). Everything else utilized was already owned. I brought in a small area rug, 2 new mirrors, bookcase and a few different accessories and it totally gives the space a new feel.

My favourite part of the revival is the simplest. I cut two purple tulips from my lovely momma's garden, and I just can't stop smiling every time I see them. I set them in a small white vase I already had, and set them atop my bookcase- prime real estate. The inside of the tulip is absolutely stunning and intricate. It just goes to show you how big of a difference such a small detail can make.

Spring Trend: Chiffon

I was reading one of my favourite sites for fashion and beauty trends, Refinery 29 and they had a fabulous article about the spring fashion trend, chiffon. Of course I desire to be indulged by anything spring these days, so I gobbled it up. However beautiful some of that clothing is, it's just not realistic for my student budget. I searched for some budget-friendly ways to incorporate chiffon into my wardrobe this spring, and here's what I came up with!

From top: Chiffon Flowers Headband $4.80 Forever 21 Canada/Delicate Chiffon Woven Top $23.80 Forever 21 Canada/AE Ruffled Miniskirt $14.95 Online Only/AE Ribbon Bangle $9.95/Floral Print Chiffon Tops $26.50 Old Navy/Bright Chiffon Skirt $17.80 Forever 21 Canada/Chiffon Rosette Dress $23.80 Forever 21 Canada

These are all items that are reasonably priced and easy to incorporate into daily wear, am I right? However, I did find one piece that I absolutely adored. I'll add this one to the "someday" list:
Emily Rose Applique Chiffon Dress $328.00 BCBG Max Azria

I hope everyone is staying warm and not going stir-crazy like I am! I wish it could be spring like yesterday!
Until later, my lovelies xo
